An amazing evening’s entertainment
“A wonderful production of Love’s Labour’s Lost. Very atmospheric with a great cast and some fine acting. The costumes were very well done and the girls looked even better, sparkling, as dusk fell and it became dark.
Loved the way modern music was woven into the Shakespeare story which made for an amazing evening’s entertainment. Well done to all involved.”

A truly memorable and brilliant night
“It looked amazing, it sounded amazing. The costumes were incredible; the performances were captivating. The words (500+ years old) made sense – brought to life by a talented cast, acted so well and SO entertainingly. The music was the icing on the cake. (Well, that and the bubble machine over the final song).
A truly memorable and brilliant night out!”

The collection of talent is extraordinary
I used to not be very ***ed about theatre to be honest. But since I’ve been going to watch the productions from The Players Theatre Company, I’ve been completely swayed.
The collection of talent from the people in The Players is extraordinary. It’s actually weird that they’re not in huge West End productions. The set, direction, and tech are always excellent.
You’ve missed your chance to watch this steampunk-esque, musical performance, but keep an eye out for their next project…”

Noël Coward,
“Tonight at 8.30”
February-March 2024

Absolutely brilliant!
“What an absolutely brilliant massive production of Tonight at 8.30!
Nine plays which featured a super talented cast, incredible sets and costumes! This was an epic production to take on by any Company and it was played to absolute perfection. It was quite honestly the most professional amateur production I have ever seen. Huge congratulations to the director Sarah and the multi talented cast, I can’t wait to see your Shakespeare production in the summer!”

A hugely talented cast
“A wonderful selection of plays, moving between the comic and poignant with a hugely talented cast and great acting, singing and dancing throughout. I loved the costumes and the cabaret style setting worked perfectly for the period.”

Shakespeare’s
“A Midsummer Night’s Dream”
May 2023

Absolutely brilliant!
“Huge congratulations to the Players Theatre Company Edlesborough, for their superb production of “The Dream” which I saw last night.
My actor friends Haydn Davis, Andy Faber, Filipa Garrido, Andy Shaw and Marlon Gill did a splendid job, as did Paris Arnold and the young fairies who very nearly stole the show!
Wonderful setting, excellent direction from Sarah Jones and beautiful costumes. Great use of the outdoor and indoor space in the gorgeous church and its settings. A joyous production and deserved its sell out status. Here’s to the next show in 2024!

All praise to the cast
“Those who climbed the hill to Edlesborough’s ancient Church of St Mary the Virgin the Virgin for a promenade performance of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” were richly rewarded.
Who could possibly have imagined that its beautiful interior and the steep grassy slopes around it could work as a setting for live performances of the Bard’s famous comedy set in Athens – with the church’s interior transformed to a Duke’s palace and with all the rest of the action moving about the grounds, scene by scene – the audience following? Well, Sarah Jones did – with tremendous flair and imagination.
Sarah’s professional experience and love of Shakespeare drew on the talents of local performers and came up with a gem of a production.
The performances were polished, confident and didn’t flag for a moment as we the audience followed them scene by scene, totally absorbed.
All praise to the cast – it would be unfair to highlight individual performances since they were all so confident and convincing. A special mention though for the flock of lively fairies who escorted us from scene to scene, always with a smile and never missing a beat.”

Truly magical experience
“I came to see your Dream last night and really enjoyed it. Everyone gave it everything, and the speaking of the text was really very good.
The setting was gorgeous. Sometimes with Shakespeare, because I know the plays so well, I leave at half time but I couldn’t leave yours.
It was a truly magical experience. What you got out of these lovely actors (text-speaking wise) was terrific.”
