Founded by Sarah Jones

A professionally-run, amateur theatre group

The Players Theatre Company was founded by Sarah Jones in 2022.

Sarah’s boundless energy and passion brought all of us together, inspiring the Company to create wonderful shows, for large diverse audiences;  to share unforgettable moments; and to build a community of new friends forever grateful to have known her.

Sarah sadly died in 2024. In less than two years, Sarah had  brought to life twelve shows in her Company! Two open-air Shakespeare productions (Midsummer Night’s DreamLove’s Labour’s Lost); nine one-act plays in the Noel Coward series “Tonight at 8.30“; and a comedy melodrama for a village fair, which she wrote/adapted, Mariah and the Old Oak Tree.

As Shakespeare wrote, ‘All the world’s a stage…,’ and Sarah played her parts beautifully. We remember her with heartfelt applause  (captured in the video above from 2024).

In Sarah’s honour, please do join us in supporting breast cancer research, and local community hospice care.

As the lyrics from last year’s video remind us, ‘I had the time of my life.’

Watch Sarah here in full, magic-inspiring Director mode putting on our first show

We’ll always remember her as an unstoppable force of nature.
